    Hello Ehsan,
Nice Post. It is true that many of us do not want to read the long articles on SEO and other important content on blogging. Although videos are easier and much catchy, but they seems to teach us a lot in a short time. Instead slower learning in case of blogging and experimenting each and everything personally on a blog is much better. We should have to develop the skill to read.
    Thanks for sharing it.

Treat your blog posts like you were making a TV show or putting on a live performance. They must be fun, helpful, engaging, entertaining!

If you watched a TV show for the first time and the episode sucked, you wouldn’t watch another episode.

The same applies for blog posts – I make the concious decision that each post I will produce will be the best piece on the topic at hand. This does take more time, but it pays off :)

    Hi Ehsan,

I really enjoyed the video. It was very concise, detailed and extremely easy for a new blogger to follow.

I remember when I was just getting started with WP, I felt so lost! It was awesome WP tutorial videos, just like this one, that showed me the way to getting started with the tech side of things.

And it was great informative blogging guides, like the one you have available, that taught me the right way to create content and build a successful blog.

It’s been a while since I’ve dropped by and I’m glad to see that your content is still as valuable as ever. I appreciate everything that you’ve done, and still do for your community. You truly are a top blogger.

Thanks for the email that pulled me here; I’m glad I opened it! Keep the great content coming and I look forward to connecting more with you soon.

    See ya’ around!

    Ti

    Hi Ehsan & Matthew,

    Awesome video indeed :)

It reminded me of the time when I switched from Blogger to WordPress and was totally clueless about WP and how to find my way about it. I guess that happens when you switch from an easy platform to a little complicated one, or perhaps we find it so because we come from a different platform we are used to.

I did have DiggDigg earlier but replaced it with ShareBar because of the load time issues at my blog. Nevertheless, it wasn’t tough to get things started once I know how it was all done.

The only problem I faced was where the codes were concerned because I wanted to make the blog look the way I liked, and being on Genesis earlier, that was the toughest part for me, coming from a non-tech background. Somehow, one learns of these things along the way.

Now of course, things are much different but we can never forget how we started, isn’t it? So, it was good to see your video Matthew that was so effortlessly made and easy for any new blogger to follow. And Ehsan, I know we’d soon be seeing you making videos too. I say this knowing even I have to get started there!

Thanks for sharing. Have a nice week ahead, both of you :)

Hey Harleena, what a comment! Always great to have you here.
I had never been in a situation of moving my blog to another platform, thankfully. I started my first blog on Blogger platform, and when I learned about blogging than started 2nd one on WordPress. My first blog is still on Blogger, but I don’t work on that anymore.
I don’t use both of the social sharing plugins you mentioned in your comment. I use a Twitter, FB social share instead which is very light weight plugin that suits my blog design.
Yeah Harleena, I’ll soon start creating video tutorials. There’s just one thing right now which is stopping me, but I’ll get it out of my way.
What about you Harleena? Have you ever tried making videos for your blog?
      Thanks for your comment.

      • July 24, 2013 at 6:31 pm #

It’s always good to be here too :)

I’m glad you didn’t switch your blog to WP, because when I did that, I lost a few comments and social button counts, even though I was very careful to follow the suggested ways to do so.

I wonder what is that one way stopping you from making videos :) Mine is shortage of time, due to which nowadays even my own blog comments are suffering. I guess I’d just have to shut myself up from all over, and ONLY reply to comments :)

        Thanks once again :)

Yep, I heard the process of moving to WP from Blogger is really complicated. Seems I need to learn the simple and easy way for my readers.
ha ha. Go and respond to the comments now. I guess It’s the same reason you don’t do guest posting – shortage of time, isn’t it?

        • July 25, 2013 at 10:04 am #

Videos do take a long time to put together but they are worth it. I typically spend 6-16 hours on a video depending what it is.

The tiered link building series took 120 hours to make but has earnt me nearly $20,000 so far so it all swings in roundabouts :)

Weirdly though, even though I make lots of videos – I hate watching video tutorials :P
