A couple of weeks ago, I’ve launched my first ever Guide to Blogging downloadable eBook – Starting a Blog 101 – How to Start a Blog and Actually Make Money from It.
Till now the eBook has been downloaded more than 500 times and helped a lot of people on starting a blog and actually making money from it.
The eBook is worth checking out not only for newbies, but also for experienced bloggers because there’s a lot of advanced information and strategies that you may have never considered before.
I’ve been getting great response about it from bloggers and they seems really enjoying it. Below are few of the examples of what people are saying about it:
By now I hope you’ve got enough inspiration to download the eBook If you haven’t yet.
From last few days, many people asked me for some of the insiders view of how I launched my eBook and how to launch an eBook for a blog, so I though I’d jot down a few notes in a post about the process that I’ve been through in putting the eBook together.
The idea of eBook actually came out largely of a lot of questions from people who were either:
- Asking for the first step blogging questions and tips on starting a blog
- Asking for SEO optimization tips and how to get 1st rank on Google
- Asking for WordPress tutorials and guide to take a blog to the next level
- Asking for me to pull some of the best posts from my blog regarding blogging and break it to chapters, make it step by step guide on starting a blog.
So, here are some of the insiders view of the eBook:
I’ve published hundreds of posts on Guide and News on the topic of blogging tips and starting a blog, so much of the content in the eBook is previously posted content from the blog, but I also added some extra content that were missing and was useful.
The challenge was to put together the best of it and to break it to the chapters to make it easy to read and understand for readers.
Most of the images in eBook were also taken from the post on the blog, but few of them were found from Creative Commons commercially available images on other websites.
I’m not a designer at all, but I’m learning the skill because I think It is must to learn the basic designing skills for a blogger.
I’ve pulled together all of the content, images and designed everything myself, but the cover image of it was designed by a friend of me (Raaj Trambadia).
This was the first eBook that I’ve launched on GAN, so I’ve been having a fear of how the community will respond, but I must say that It’s going great till now.
Those who downloaded the eBook seems really enjoying it and giving positive feedback. The feedback(s) are really useful and positive which basically means that all my effort of writing this eBook was really worth it.
I’ve used different promotion tactics to promote my eBook. As this is my first eBook, so thought to give it for free and build an email list for that so that when I launch my 2nd eBook, I would have another effective way to promote that.
For this one, I used to write a post on my blog about It and shared it on social media sites and other blogging communities.
I think that If there’s a value in the eBook for people, than they will spread the work for you and as they say that “Mouth of advertisement is the biggest advertisement”.
The bonus point is that as this was my first ever eBook, so I thought to give the first 1,000 copies of it for free to celebrate the launch of it.
The reason I’m giving free 1,000 copies is that I really wanted to give something to the community members, to thank them for being a part of it and to appreciate all of your support.
You can still grab a free copy of the eBook, so go ahead before It gets too late.
The process of writing an eBook doesn’t have to be that onerous. You can start with collecting questions around your niche, than organizing them in an order that makes sense for the ultimate outcome you’re helping your readers achieve.
Ones you have that outline done, It is just a matter of answering each question by adding in some personal experience and case studies.
Speak your mind: So what do you think? Have any question of the above on launching an eBook for your blog? Leave me your comment below and let me know.
