Why do you write?
Sounds like an odd question, doesn’t it?
A couple of months ago, I’ve written an article here telling my readers why do I blog. I’ve asked them to share their reasons too and got great response and different reasons from bloggers on that.
Today I thought to make it more interesting by asking you why do you write?
Identifying the reason on why do you write has a big impact on how do you write and It can help you improve your writing skill.
But blogging in itself is a great way to meet great people, in addition to establishing a wonderful personal brand and authority, build trust and respect.
I have seen a lot of people writing for others just for the sake of money, So I must say If you’re good at something, do it of yourself and on your own blog instead of doing it for others.
I started writing from my school days because a pan in my hand and a blank piece of paper on the desk, writing just has to happen and I fall in love with writing from those days.
From the time I’m very young, I love the written words. Words has a mesmerizing affect on me and when words evoke emotion, offer hope, impart beauty and expose evil, It is nothing but short of a miracle.
With written words you read the stories of others and write your own stories that you want others to read, that is why I love it.
After I learned blogging and became a passionate blogger, I started writing blog articles because It is a creative outlet and because I enjoy helping and sharing with others.
I’m gather the most fulfillment when my writing connects with a reader and prompts that person to leave a comment and I enjoy responding to every comment too.
So, Why do I Write?
That’s a question which is really hard for me to answer because It’s like when someone asks me question like “So what do you do”, I’m usually stumped and I’m stumped now, but I’ll try to answer this question in this post.
Plus, I want you to answer this question by leaving a comment below.
There are actually a lot of reasons on why do I write, but I’ll list the top 4 here:
1. I write because I want that challenge:
I write because I accept the challenge of becoming a better writer and I like the way you can apply the strategy and see the results.
I’ve been spending a lot of time on learning the basics of becoming a better writer because I enjoy the creativity of writing and this is what I love.
There is just something about seeing my words on the internet (my blog), knowing that I did it myself and others will read them, and perhaps I managed to make someone’s day in a process makes me feel really great.
I know It takes a lot of time and effort to be able make my words flow, but I’m ready to accept the challenge.
2. It’s a platform to share my views:
Writing is really like a platform to share my views.
Writing about stuff I love helps me to get it out of my head and down on paper or on my blog and helps me to focus better on other things.
It’s like an archive of thoughts for me and It’s nice to have. It’s a bit comfort, Also knowing that my girlfriend will be able to read it lol.
Whenever I come with interesting blog post ideas, It makes be bit trigger crazy and If I don’t jot it down there’s chance to get it forget, so whenever I sit to write a post on my blog, despite all the other reasons the primary one is to get it out of my head and share it with others.
3. I write because I want to share what I love:
Writing helps me to share what I love and what I know better than someone else.
As a blogger running guide to blogging community, I do answer blogging questions everyday on social media site or through email. I do this because I love blogging and I love helping others sharing it with others.
It has even paid off in the sense that I’m becoming better at what I love. Just the thought that I’m trying to teach someone something makes me want to get that much better at it.
Most of what I write on my blog is based on my experience and I’ll continue doing it because of the positive feedback and interaction I’ve received and engaged in with my readers.
It has even provided me with form of entertainment and reasons to do things that I wanted to do.
4. To network with other people:
I do write on my blog not just because I want to make money or I want to establish myself as an expert in my niche, but also to network with other like minded people around the globe and hear what they have to say.
I have learned so much from people whom I networked with. Commenting on my posts or reading their blog posts. Well that is why I treat my blog like social networking blog.
Reading is one of the best tip to improve your writing skills, so reading other blogs and commenting on them also helped me to connect with other bloggers as well as to improve my writing.
Now I ask it to you:
I’m genuinely interested in hearing your story, that is the reason I wrote this post.
I would love for you to share your reasons on why do you write, while also telling me about your experience with writing in comment section.
